Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid (RQF)

This course is for those who work with children and infants. It is particularly relevant to teachers, child minders, crèche assistants, playgroup personnel and anyone else who has a responsibility for the welfare of children or infants in your care.

This two day course satisfies the guidelines and criteria as laid down by the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and Ofsted.

• Assessment of the situation
• Fainting
• Dealing with an unresponsive casualty
• Choking
• Head injuries
• Diabetes
• Infantile convulsions
• Foreign bodies
• Control of bleeding
• Shock and Anaphylaxis
• Eye injuries
• Fractures
• Heat and Cold
• Asthma
• Sickle cell anaemia
• Meningitis
• Burns
• CPR and use of a Defibrillator

Certification:

In order to obtain this qualification, you must attend both days and complete the two units of accreditation. Assessment is by ongoing practical assessments and a multiple choice knowledge based question paper.

This certificate is compliant with all HSE requirements and is valid for 3 years, after which the delegate must sit the re-qualification course.
